Tekken 8 has tantalized fans with its gameplay changes, expanded Rage mechanics, and new designs for classic characters. You'll also spot the return of a raft of fan-favourite characters, including Paul Phoenix (look at his hair!), Marshall Law, King, Lars Alexandersson and Jack-8. Here's the Tekken 8 gameplay and story trailer. Jin believes that she was killed but this has not been confirmed. Before the events of the third game, Jun was attacked by Ogre and vanished. The mother of Jin made her only main entry appearance in Tekken 2. I doubt there's much interest in a family selfie. Jun Kazama is someone who fans have requested Namco to bring back for many years. When all appears lost, Jin looks up and sees his mother's dramatic return. Once again the Mishimas are at each other's throats, with Tekken 8 picking up where Tekken 7 left off and the war between father and son Kazuya Mishima and Jin Kazama heating up. This time around, the trailer showcases one of the most relevant returning characters that will make an appearance in the game, Jun Kazama. ![]() The trailer below focuses on the Tekken 8 story (Tekken has an actual real life Guinness World Record for being the longest-running video game storyline!). 27 years later, she's back and it looks like she hasn't aged a day. Jun Kazama, Jin's mother, made her debut in 1995's Tekken 2 and hasn't been a playable character in the mainline Tekken series since. Some good being like Jun or Angel appearing and putting an end to that hatred, getting rid of the Devil Gene and they lived happily ever after. Jin defeating Kazuya but at the cost of his own life. Īlso, if you’d like to join the Phenixx Gaming team, check out our recruitment article for details on working with us.Tekken 8 got its moment in the sun at The Game Awards last night, and for fans of the long-running fighting game franchise like me, one thing stood out: Jun Kazama's return. But if we only get one canon ending, then I guess it’s: -Jin defeating Kazuya. Follow us on Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. Either way, we should be seeing more characters soon enough. Some of these powered-up attacks from Jun also have a shrieking sound effect behind them, not unlike how Angel was portrayed in Tekken Tag Tournament 2. They’ve been shown to have a connection of sorts and although Jun has been known for how pure and good-natured she is, it could explain why she’s able to shoot beams of light out of the ground. My fingers are still crossed that Angel will be making a return. It’s also possible that we could see a new trailer that hints at or reveals more characters. Bandai Namco has shown off Jun Kazama gameplay from Tekken 8. Driven by his hatred for the cursed bloodline within him, Jin Zazama set out on a mission to end the devil gene’s legacy. We should be seeing more gameplay this weekend during EVO Japan, as the first “Closed Alpha Tests” that function like location tests will be held there. Tekken’s golden boy takes center stage once again as one of the first Tekken 8 characters to be confirmed as part of the roster. With this trailer shown off, we’ve seen one for every character revealed so far. Similar to the Colosseum stage that we’ve seen, it seems like this might be a particularly large stage with walls. The last couple of times there was a forest stage like this would have been in Tekken 4 and Tekken 6, although neither of those looks as elegant and lively as this one. Considering how much Jun has been portrayed as being one with nature, it’s certainly fitting to show her off on such a tranquil forest stage. Producer Michael Murray has said that she plays differently than her last iteration and hints at a unique mechanic she has, which could be healing.Ī new stage was also revealed in the trailer. Instead of creating goopy purple pillars though, she instead can follow up attacks with short beams of light. Most interestingly she also retains some moves from Unknown, who is presented as a dark version of her and the main boss for both Tekken Tag Tournament games. The new gameplay trailer doesn’t show her encroaching on her original moveset or Asuka’s, but it does have some familiar moves from her Tekken Tag Tournament 2 iteration. ![]()
